RIVER ACCIDENTS

The 1998 year begins with the report of the deaths of two rafters on the "Green Wall" section of Oregon's Illinois River. A major factor in the accident was a weather related very rapid rise in the river level.

Details of the accident are not yet available. News reports appeared in the East Side Journal (King County, Washington), March 24, 1998, and in the Seattle Times, Regional News Section, March 24, 1998.
